Epiphany 3C
January 24th, 2016
Here's a confession sequence for Epiphany 3C.
Call to Confession
As the Body of Christ, let us confess to our brokenness.
Let us repent of the ways we’ve torn ourselves apart.
Confession
Merciful God,
you have created us to be one body,
but we confess that we too often we seek to be islands unto ourselves.
Those of us who are eyes say we have no need of the feet.
Those of us who are hands say we have no need of the ears.
Some of us make ourselves to be more important than we are.
Some of us are guilty of the opposite,
convincing ourselves we are less important than we really are.
Help us to embrace our place within your Body,
to treat each part of the Body with great respect,
and to arrange ourselves to do your will the best way we can.
Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Friends, hear the good news of the Gospel:
Christ came in a body that we might be redeemed by his Body.
Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus,
you and I are forgiven.
Alleluia! Amen!
