"What Would Happen If We Dared to Reimagine Wealth and Worth?"
/Here’s a hymn inspired by A Sanctified Art’s “Our Money Story” worship series. It’s written in 8.7.8.7.D, has an ABCB/ABCB rhyme scheme, and is sung to the tune IN BABILONE. It’s based on Leviticus 19:9-10; 25:8-12. As always, if you would like this hymn notated to a different tune, I’m happy to do so upon request as long as the tune is public domain or I have written permission from the copyright holder.

What would happen if we dared to reimagine wealth and worth?
What if we each took a stand to end the ills that plague this earth?
In the Bible there’s a passage that explains God’s sure decree.
It takes places each fifty years; it’s called the year of jubilee.
Ev’rything becomes rebalanced; trumpets sound to start the feast.
Ev’ryone finds new beginnings, from the greatest to the least.
Slaves are freed and debts are cancelled; human worth is redefined.
Predatory economics has no place in God’s design.
What if we accept this summons, take its mandate seriously?
What if we commit to change and teach our children differently?
We could find a kinder world and break the cycles of despair.
Help us, God, to follow you and build economies of care.
