“Let us go to God’s home,” joyfully I heard.
At their invitation, soon my heart was stirred.
I shall respond while singing without cease:
“God’s home brings me gladness, there I find God’s peace!”
Through our tiresome journeys, far and wide we roam.
Marching many miles, we long to be home.
God calls to us, our joyous songs increase:
“God’s home brings us gladness, there we find God’s peace!”
God’s eternal welcome long with strength has stood.
We are cherished children, seeking out God’s good.
We will announce while foolish fears decrease:
“God’s home brings us gladness, there we find God’s peace!”
God’s home isn’t “up there,” far from earth’s alarms;
God becomes the Christ-child right here in our arms.
Mary will sing, her melody release:
“God has brought me gladness, here I’ve found God’s peace!”
