In the garden God told Adam, “Listen close to what I say:
You and Eve may eat all things but from that tree you stay away!”
Refrain: God has gifted us with boundaries; there we’ll live in harmony.
Come, you people, heed God’s wisdom; join the holy symphony.
Then the serpent slyly slithered, speaking to them with deceit.
Suddenly their eyes were opened, feeling naught but indiscreet.
Refrain
God was walking in the garden, seeking Adam, seeking Eve,
but their doings made them distant, giving God just cause to grieve.
Refrain
Every day has many choices. Which is easy? Which is right?
Let us trust in God’s instruction; there we’ll find our true delight.
