We live, O God, in hurried times; we run from place to place.
We miss so much along the way to keep our frenzied pace.
Be patient as we wait for God. Beloved, take a breath!
The seed is planted, now it grows. Lay down and get some rest!
Take time to strengthen all your hearts for God’s approach is near.
There’s work to do this Advent wait. God’s child will soon appear.
God, give us calm to rest secure within your warm embrace,
that once our faithful wait is done, we’ll see you face to face.
