Happy are those who once were slaves to sin.
God has secured us, sought our souls to win.
Glee fills the hearts that flee from wretched wrong;
Covered by grace, they sing their freedom song.
Silence I kept for many dismal days.
Heavy my heart, my mouth refused to praise.
Then I confessed my sorry, sinful soul.
God heard my cry and sought to make me whole.
May all the faithful give themselves in prayer.
Ever you listen, ever do you care.
You are my hiding place, your love surrounds.
My sole salvation in your grace abounds.
God will instruct and teach us as we go;
Wisdom will follow, gifts of grace will flow.
Finding our faith will be our journey bold.
Gladness upholds the righteous of God’s fold.
